What actually drives the cost
Two offices with the same square footage can land at very different monthly rates. When a quote comes in higher or lower than you expected, it's almost always one of these five things:
- Plant count and size. Floor trees and large palms cost more to supply and care for than tabletop plants. A lobby anchored by two big specimens can cost more than a whole floor of desktop greenery.
- Container quality. Decorative containers range from simple to designer, and they're often the biggest swing in an installation quote. Ask whether they're included in the rate.
- Visit frequency. Weekly service costs more than every-other-week. The right schedule depends on your plant selection and light, not a one-size-fits-all calendar.
- Access. Downtown parking, freight elevators, security check-ins, and after-hours requirements all add service time, and service time is what you're paying for.
