Augustin founded Area Indoor Plants in 1986. Nearly four decades later, his son Luca works alongside him — same family, same values, same promise to stand behind our work.
Our story
It started with Augustin in 1986
Augustin founded Area Indoor Plants in 1986 on a simple idea: a plant company should work the way any good trade does — know your craft, show up on schedule, and fix anything that goes wrong on your own dime.
For nearly four decades we've designed, installed, and cared for interior plantscapes across Los Angeles and Orange County — offices Downtown, restaurants in Hollywood, homes and estates from Studio City to Beverly Hills to Pasadena. Today the second generation is in the business: Augustin's son Luca works alongside him, on walk-throughs, installations, and service routes.
Everything we offer today — from design and installation to green walls and moss walls — still runs on that original idea.

We hand-pick every plant from several partner growers across Los Angeles and Orange County — dracaenas, palms, orchids, and more — each one inspected and chosen for your exact space and light before it ever reaches your lobby. Every space is tailor-designed, and our own crew installs everything to plan.
That selectiveness matters for one simple reason: when you've hand-picked every plant yourself, you can confidently stand behind it. It's why our Guarantee maintenance plans include free replacement of any plant that declines, and why our Maintenance Lease with Guarantee can bundle plants, containers, installation, and full care into one monthly rate.

Meet The Plant Artist, our family's design studio
The same family behind Area Indoor Plants also owns The Plant Artist, our modern, high-end design studio. It's where our most sculptural work comes from: preserved moss walls — including branded logo walls — large custom faux plants like our handcrafted olive trees, and botanical light fixtures that weave greenery into the glow.
