Bright, ocean-lit rooms are the easiest rooms to fill with living plants. We design, install, and care for greenery in workplaces, hotels, and restaurants (with free replacement on our Guarantee plans), from a family company serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties since 1986.
Few cities hand a plant designer better raw material than Santa Monica. Between the glass curtain walls, the white interiors, and the light that pours in off the ocean all afternoon, rooms here give live tropical plants exactly the conditions they crave. Fiddle-leaf figs, birds of paradise, and palms that struggle in darker buildings genuinely thrive beside a west-side window, and indoors, the coastal air is no problem at all. We begin with a free on-site walk-through, read the light room by room, and put a written proposal in your hands within one business day.
The west side works differently, too. Creative agencies, studios, and tech offices fill daylight-flooded buildings where design is part of the job description. People here notice their surroundings, and so do their clients. Our office plant service carries the whole project: the plan, the installation, and every scheduled care visit that follows.
Mix and match to fit your rooms; typical monthly rates live on our pricing page.
It starts with a free walk-through. We measure your light, sketch a plan for the floor, and hand-pick every plant from our partner nurseries in Los Angeles and Orange County. Our own crew (never subcontractors) delivers and installs, decorative containers included.
Office plant serviceScheduled weekly or every-other-week visits cover watering, feeding, pruning, cleaning, and a check for pests and disease. Every-Other-Week programs start at $225 per month, and on our Guarantee plans any plant that declines is replaced free.
Plant maintenancePrefer one predictable monthly rate? Our Maintenance Lease with Guarantee covers plants, containers, care, and free replacements together. That costs far less upfront than buying, with a one-time installation fee quoted in your proposal, and the plants and pots are yours at the end of the lease.
Plant leasing & rentalPreserved moss walls from The Plant Artist, our design studio, bring texture to a wall with no water, light, or plumbing, and the studio also builds custom faux trees and botanical light fixtures. Living walls are available where the light supports them.

Santa Monica packs a lot of different rooms into a few square miles, and each one asks for its own plan. Spaces we design for:
Every one of them starts the same way: a free walk-through, then a written proposal within one business day. Book yours here.
Boutique hotels and restaurants near the water trade on atmosphere, and plants do quiet, steady work in that trade: a built-in planter spilling monstera along a dining-room wall, hanging plants above a bar, an entry arrangement that says somebody cares about this place. Because our crews return on a schedule, the opening-week look holds, and on our Guarantee plans, any plant that fades is simply replaced free.
Where the architecture pushes back, we have answers. Indoor-outdoor rooms get tough tropicals that shrug off the open door; windowless corners get custom faux trees and botanical light fixtures from The Plant Artist, or a preserved moss wall that needs no water or light at all. Come December, poinsettias and garlands go up and come down on one call. It's all part of our full list of services.
Augustin started Area Indoor Plants in 1986; today his son Luca works beside him, and the crews on your floor are ours. We never subcontract. That's how the company has kept a 5.0-star rating across 20 Google reviews (older reviews there show our former name, Area Indoor Planting Co.): the people who design your space are the same people who answer for it. Our routes also reach nearby Venice, Brentwood, and West Los Angeles. Browse all of our service areas.
Ready to look at your space together? Call (818) 957-8719 or request a free proposal. The walk-through costs nothing, and the written proposal is in your inbox within one business day.
“Professional. Reliable. Excellent. Thank you Augustin and his son, Luca! They are the experts in what they do. They came in time to rescue our indoor plants.”Hans Koes via Google
Yes. Santa Monica is one of the cities our crews serve, with routes running across the west side on a regular schedule. You can choose weekly or every-other-week maintenance visits; we recommend a frequency in your written proposal based on your plants, light, and floor plan, then adjust it whenever your space needs more or less attention.
Every-other-week service starts at $225 per month, and most programs land between $225 and $450 per month. Most clients purchase their plants and pots outright, but if you'd rather keep it to one monthly rate, our Maintenance Lease with Guarantee bundles plants, containers, care, and free replacements together. That is far less upfront than buying, with a one-time installation fee quoted in your proposal, and the plants and containers become yours at the end of the lease. The walk-through is free, and the written proposal arrives within one business day.
Santa Monica's daylight is a genuine advantage. Big windows and bright ocean light suit fiddle-leaf figs, birds of paradise, monstera, and most palms beautifully. Varieties that sulk in darker buildings often flourish on the west side, and indoors, the coastal air is no problem at all. We hand-pick every plant from our partner nurseries in Los Angeles and Orange County and match each one to the light your rooms actually get.
Yes. Hospitality is some of our favorite work. We design and maintain greenery for dining rooms, lobbies, and lounges: built-in planters, hanging plants, and preserved moss walls, all handled on one account. Because our crews visit on a schedule, the room keeps its opening-week look, and on our Guarantee plans any plant that declines is simply replaced free.
